Howdy, hoping to get some help...had similar experience with the '02 7.3.
Recently, was leaving with the '01 7.3 Excursion. Got to the end of the driveway, lost power, ran rough and engine quit. Would not start back up. Towed it back up to the shop with the truck. Replaced the glow plug harnesses. Got her back started and down the road about a mile or two, then had the same exact thing happen. Towed it back to the shop with the truck and there she sits for now.
As I mentioned, had similar experience with the truck, which has been running great since replacing the glow plug harnesses.
Any ideas on what might be happening ? Thank y'all for the help....
My first suspect would be fuel flow, either the pump or the intake but that white smoke is puzzling. Try a quick blow by test with your oil cap upside down on your fill tube and see if it shakes around or blows off.
Walleye, is that done while the engine is trying to turn over ?
Additionally, it was odd that it started up again before I replaced the harnesses...the truck did the same thing, which was good so I could get them inside the shop instead of having to work on them outside...
