steering box comparison
While all of them are remanufactured OEM units it seems that some of the "smaller" guys (Red Head, Blue-Top) remanufacture to tighter tolerances for an OEM or better experience.
I will tell you that there was a noticeable difference between the Cardone unit I had and the Blue-Top. I'm not sure how the process differs between the two companies but the Blue-Top felt way better than my Cardone ever did. Plus my Cardone started to leak after about 18 months after I bought/installed it.
To me, that's beefier. This wouldn't be the first time that the way I describe something means something completely different to everybody else.
yes blue and red guys remanufacture them to tighter tolerances then the big boys do, including Motorcraft, where Motorcraft has the advantage however is they use a new sector shaft that is not available to anybody else.
That said my red is better then the 2 Motorcrafts I tried years ago.
