At work we have a 2004 F250 4x4. The 4x4 shifter is coming apart. It looks similar to this one https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...sfer-case.html Where it piviots on the rubber bushing, it keeps slipping off. Is that bushing supposed to be pressed into the shifter and it spin on the bolt, or is there a retention washer that is supposed to be there? I have a picture of it out of the truck, but cant post now, but figured I would see if anyone had information. I can not find anything about this style shifter.
I had that same issue with mine. I took the shifter into a trucking supply store and they where able to find me a bushing and a bolt that would fit it. The bushing was a leaf spring bushing so I had to cut it in half so it would be short enough to fit. It works great now.
Almost, the bracket on ours only has 2 holes on it. But looking at my picture I could cut off the extra hole. Don't know if the boss wants to spend that much though. Your bushing idea has me thinking though.
I am assuming you had to press the new bushing into the bracket?
