1991 F150 XLT Lariat Rebuild or Part-Out?

Hey Guys,

I just bought this truck last week for a few hundred dollars and I wanted everyones opinion on whether to part-out or rebuild. Theres a lot of rust and frame rot, however It drives ok. Theres 120K on this motor (according to the seller). The truck is sporadically missing when in gear, and looses oil pressure. It seems to be running cold as well (I found a new thermostat and gasket under the seat). I uploaded some pics, let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

Bed Rust
I think the body is good
clean interior, maybe new seat

Bowed out tailgate

just a couple dime sized rust spots on hood

rust

more rust

RUST

Really rusty, one of the parts that im most worried about

new tailpipe needed for sure
frame rot

bumper and rear frame rot
frame rot

rust, rust, rust

I hope you do not drive that on the road! That has to be some of the worst frame root I have seen, and I am from the Northeast originally! It is a great parts vehicle only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"120k on the motor according to the seller" ... yeah, right.
in view of the fact that it's missing and has an oil pressure issue i am calling b.s.
cancer deep into it's bones, rotted cab corners probably covered with bondo.
a parts vehicle for sure. as stated, i wouldn't drive it due to the ADVANCED frame rot.

my vote would to buy another truck that needs doors and fenders etc and swap everything you need to that truck and part the rest out

Couple hundred bucks huh?

Wheels and tires are probably worth that.

Cab looks pretty decent too.

But that frame. Yikes!

Junk yd trucks look far better than that in Idaho. It’ll be a money pit with a weak unsafe frame that’s 30 yrs old. Use the good parts on a better truck body & frame
