After about 10 months of ownership of this 2002 V10 Ex, I have decided to officially join FTE. I have quietly learned so much from this forum and wanted to share my progress. If there is interest I will make this a build thread.
Here is what I have done beyond the maintenance of a used vehicle.
1. Grill swap
2. Mirror swap
3. Interior LED swap
4. Manual switch of interior lights.
5. BDS 6" all sprint lift
6. Moto Metal MO990 17x9 wheels
7. Nitto Ridge Grapplers 35x12.50 R17 tires
8. DB Electric 220 Amp alternator with Big 4 wire upgrade
9. Added AUX battery with Blue Sea Systems auto charging relay
My wish list right now includes.
1. complete F650 dash install with custom fuse block and relays for future electronics.
2. Front bumper with winch.
3. Rear Bumper with tire carrier.
4. Additional exterior lighting.
5. Front and rear selectable lockers with re-gearing.
6. Maybe Dana 60 front to go along with above.
Plenty more I suppose.
Here is where the EX is now. I have more pictures in my gallery.
There IS interest!
Nice looking wagon, V-10 XLTs are my favs.
Do you have any pics of the work already done? I would like to see your new alternator and big 4 wire setup in particular.
Looks AWESOME! Great color/wheel/lift combination. Sounds like you're gonna do some serious off roading if youre gonna put lockers in it. Looking forward to following along.

I do not have pics of the alternator and wiring yet. I will get them posted this weekend at the latest. I will also look for my wiring diagram and post that too.

I do plan on taking it offroad. Hopefully just beach and moderate trails. With the weight of the EX, I feel like I wouldn't be able to count on my buddies to pull me out. My thought on the best recovery method is to not get stuck in the first place.
Looks great. You seem to have similar taste as myself- my setup is similar and future goals are as well.
Have any information on your second battery? I plan on moving my charcoal canister and installing one at some point, just haven't had the time/need quite yet.
How do you like the Ridge Grapplers? I am in the market for new tires and am having trouble deciding between those, the Cooper ST Maxx, and Toyo RT's.
I am also interested in your alternator and wire upgrade.
Is it just me? Or, is that front shock absorber installed upside down? Mine has the rubber boot on the bottom. That is how it was with the older shock as well when it was replaced last week.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.
I did put the second battery on the driver side. I had relocated the power steering reservoir and charcoal filter. The reservoir got moved back towards the firewall with "custom" brackets. Custom is in quotes because I don't do any welding. It turned out pretty good though. The charcoal filter was moved to under the air filter. I remember cutting apart the bracket and bolting it underneath there. I did need to put a longer hose on it. I'll take pictures this weekend. As for the wiring, I ordered some 2/0 Gauge Premium Extra Flexible Welding Cable from Amazon, and crimped and soldered ends to them. The new alternator charges both batteries really good through the Blue Sea relay. Right now the second battery is a glorified jump pack as I have nothing hooked to it. I did get to flip the switch when a bad stereo radio drained the main battery and I was able to start up the truck. Radio has since been replaced. Picture will be up soon.
These Bilsteins almost never come with the boots in the proper position. You can just cut that zip tie, and relocate the boot a bit for better appearance and function. The boot will have at least one tiny drain hole in it near the bottom (small sign) since they're intended to be installed with the Bilstein name up and the boot at bottom.
