99 Exp. starter does not crank
OK here is the problem. my 99 exp. ran great no problems. then a couple of sundays ago we got in it to go some where and there was no crank when key was turned to start. all lights/buzzers and dings worked but no crank, just dead! the next morning I went out and it started instantly. this happended acouple of more times. Now it wont start at ALL. I purchased the OBD2, tried to pull the codes but there was none. I suspect either the security key (antitheft) or possibly the TR (Tranns range sensor/ Nueltral switch).

Does everything still work when you try to crank it? Try this. When it fails to start, turn the headlamps on. While watching the headlamps, try to start it. If the headlamps go out when you try to crank it, I would suspect a bad/dirty battery cable, or an intermittent dead cell in the battery.
If the lights stay on fairly bright when you try to crank it, and it won't turn over, then your theft/neutral safety switch idea may be it.
