Like a dummy, I did not check the pictures I took before disassembly and they did not come out well. I took both sides apart at once so can not use the opposite for reference. Is this correct before I proceed to the opposite. Thank you!
Looks perfect except the shoes appear to be the same length. There should be a primary shoe which is shorter on the front or left side in this picture.
They were all four the same, I measured length as well as thickness just in case. They are the Duralast shoes from autozone. I also thought that was strange....
Boostingaz i also am in the middle of redoing the rear brakes on my 67 f-100. i got my brake shoes from Oreilly,s their store brand. they are also all the same size. i thought that one shoe would be longer than the other one. but i guess not.

I am wondering if this is to make manufacturing cheaper/faster, but to what affect?
Right side of pic where spring holds the arched cable guide. I might be a bit **** but I lube anything that might move including the back of the bracket where the springs attach to the anchor pin.
Job does look pretty.

Gotcha, I was reading that as the actual parking cable, but you are right, I will throw a little on there. Not sure why my OCD buzzer didn't go off and make me do that.
Also the adjuster star threads needs to have white grease applied to it.
When working in a brake shop 50 yrs ago we'd clean all old lube, wash & air dry the backing palates apply white grease onto the resting pads along with the adjuster cable guide..
When a vehicle had self adjusters vehicle came in, back then most vehicles on the road had manual adjusting brakes..

50 years ago!! you are getting old but it does beat the alternative We used to think nothing of blowing off the brake dust most times you couldn't see across the shop. Good old asbestos dust.

I did that as well.
Thanks all. Now just waiting on Rock Auto, to re-send me the correct other parking cable. The driver side was correct but for the other side they sent the correct box with a giant expedition/excursion cable inside.
