Hey guys. Still working on getting my np203 to stop leaking. I have the bearing retainer cover sorted out. But I have a leak at the rear output shaft that looks a little strange to me. If you look at this image you can see that oil is getting out of the case onto the rear output yoke. But it doesn't drip like a output seal would. Instead it drips out of the ujoint carrier between the driveshaft and the transfer case. Is there a seal in behind the output yoke in addition to the press in shaft seal? Tearing into it tomorrow, but just thought I'd ask here.
Dont have a solution, but it looks very much like my np203. My case looks like one big leak .... This summer will most likely be a transmission, Tcase, drive-line rebuild mission...
Yeah. Mine leaked there and from the bearing retainer cover. Power washing the entire thing with purple power made it much easier to figure out. Ha. This looks likes its leaking from between the yoke and the output shaft. Strange. It's dry under the seal where it would normally drip.
I think there's a dropin gasket in there looking at the drawings it just calls it a washer but I think it's a rubber washer. It must be dead.
Yep that little rubber washer/gasket must be no good. If I were you I would wash the crap out of it then replace the washer and output seal while it's apart. Good luck.
Yeah. And of course the parts store doesn't carry it. So I'll order it. and yeah. It will get a good cleaning. And I already have the rear seal since I thought that was leaking until o looked closer. So yeah it'll get replaced for sure.
