‘94 F250 Cab rust repair

Hey guys,

im in the process of repairing the rusted out lower extended cab on my truck. I started removing the rust and I noticed this foam in between the outer and inner metal which I assume is the cause of the rust and is okay to remove? Also we can see in one pic the rusted out cab seams where two metal pieces are crimped together. How would I deal with this? I guess cut out all the rust including cutting the seam off? I’m looking for info on this but I’m not finding much. Any help I’d greatly appreciate.

thanks.
Nathan

Any suggestions? I know ill have to remove all the rust, obviously including the rusted out lip where I assume the outer and inner pieces of sheet metal are crimped and spot welded together. I figure once I get the outer piece on and seal it everywhere with weld ill be good to go....
