Hello everyone! I’ve been reading this site for months now and finally joined. My wife an I are planning to buy a camper and tow rig soon, and I’m in the process of researching and shopping for the truck part (We have a pretty good idea which camper we want already). We’ve been looking online at ‘99+ F350’s, and I’ve been doing a lot of reading on this and other sites, particularly about 6.0’s. I haven’t owned a Ford before, but my wife’s family has owned many Ford trucks over the years and have had good service from them; at present the family fleet included 2 F150’s and an ‘02 F350 V10; hopefully we find the right truck to add to that soon!

Besides that, and generally liking what these trucks offer, one other selling point for us is the interior door handles, especially for the driver. I lost use of my left arm a couple years ago and these trucks have my favorite door handles ever; I can use other kinds with my left hand and make them work, but these are much more ergonomic for me. Not sure who came up with that design but I’d love to shake their hand one someday.

On Thursday (hopefully) we’re going to check out an ‘06 F350 with the 6.0 that’s already had the EGR delete, SCT fitting, and some other good mods done; from talking to the owner it seems like he knew what he was doing in terms of maintenance, so that’s a good sign. In the meantime, I’m going to buy a ScanGauge II tomorrow and learn how to use it. If things go well we’ll be owners soon!
