First post, and probably in poor taste- starting with a question. I'm a prospective 2005 Excursion owner, and today...am attempting to decide between two sub 85k mile V10 trucks- both in exceptional condition. They both have their plus and minuses, but the one critical requirement that my family and I have identified is the need for 2nd row bucket seats (know the bench seats are fine for some, but we're all-in on the buckets).
Problem is- the truck we're leaning towards doesn't have them. In all of my research (Ebay, Craigslist, forum) I've been unable to find a pair for sale- they seem very difficult to find.
If I can't find a pair easily, this will be a deal breaker for the bench truck and my truck decision just became that much easier...
Question is- is anyone aware of a source for these in tan leather (limited) or is this a needle in the haystack effort?
Availability of 2nd row buckets is more based on LUCK.
The 2005 seats are DIFFERENT colors than 2000-2004.
Having seats in CA if you live in FL/NY isn't really "good" either.
So, if you are picky about color match and shipping costs you are in for a tougher time..
There is no "constant" supply, but folks want to swap "periodically"
Did not realize that the 2005 seat colors are unique. Expect that this limits the probability of finding a pair by quite a bit. With consideration to this, and to the install headaches (carpet cutting, etc)- I've just made an offer on the 05' with buckets. It's a very, very clean 1-family truck that I hope will serve my family well.
Good luck with the purchase. As Misky said, finding some buckets is a challenge. Next would be finding them in the exact colors that you want. I have been searching and when they do show up around here in the Washington DC area, sellers are asking for double premium prices.

Thanks, and your feedback makes me feel good about the decision (a tough one). It's the exact color combo and configuration that we were after, so we were glad to have found it in VA.
Unleashd, I don't know if you've checked here or not, but there's a salvage yard in Waynesboro, PA called Newcomers that has several Excursions in the yard. Might be worth a call. I got my cloth power front buckets and console there for $450, which I didn't think was all that bad. Plus, they threw in the rear hatch window trim that was in better shape than mine, which had holes in it for mounting lights from it's previous life as a US government vehicle.

Hmm...Now you've given me more excuses to spend my money
It would not bother me to recover some buckets if I could find them.
Same here. My current seats are worn, for them being 17 years old. Plan is to find the right set before I go to an upholsterer or buy a set of seat covers.
