Another mirror install question

I was wondering if anyone has installed these mirrors on their Excursion: https://www.1aauto.com/2008-10-ford-...ampaign=1ATony

I checked with 1A, but they said there were no mirrors with these particular options that would fit. I'm guessing that these fit but need some extra wiring. So, I figured I'd ask if anyone has used this particular model and if there were any tips. I currently have 08 mirrors with power/lights/heat and manual fold/telescope, but was looking to get the power fold (I don't really care about power telescoping) for more convenience when parking. Half the time, if I fold the mirrors in, I forget to fold them back out until after I get in the Ex.

The two power options will need additional wiring to be done. the 1A auto pigtail is not enough to get everything going. These 2 threads will help.

Thanks, unleashd

I guess I didn't do a good enough search. I was looking for the particular model number instead of just doing a generic search for the mirror installation. Appreciate the links.

The first link is to wire up an oem style from a newer ('08 and up) super duty like the one you linked from 1Aauto. The set many of us, myself included, have installed is the newer style mirror housing but with the older style plugs that fit our excursion. For some reason I can't seem to find it on 1Aauto's site. Maybe they stopped manufacturing them? In any case, if you use the this style you'll only need to run a wire for the clearance lights and/or turn signal depending on how your truck was originally optioned. 1Aauto includes a wiring harness and switch for the power fold function that you install in a location of your choosing and power up from the fuse box or any other source. The oem mirrors are quite pricey unless you can score a deal on a nice used set.

I spoke to a rep at 1A (many months ago), and he confirmed that they don't have the pigtails for the OEM mirrors. I am in the same situation myself with the OEM mirrors. Thanks to Nicmike, he got me a set of connectors from a donor truck at the gold mine. Summer project for me to hook up the wiring. I am actually looking to get door panels from a newer truck including all the switches & wiring if possible. For now, it is all "plans" and just motoring along with completely manual mirrors. FWIW, I have a bungee cord holding the mirrors from 'automatically' folding in at highway speeds

From what I recall they only have the pigtail to go from the 02 - 05 style to the older round plugs from the 99 - 01 models. They came included with the set I had gotten. But yeah, I have not heard of any adapter for the 08 style.

I just went through my emails, the part number for the aftermarket 08 style mirror with power fold, heated, power adjust, clearance and turn signal lights and the older style plug is 1AMRP01614 but it brings up nothing on the 1Aauto website. I wonder why they don't carry them anymore, they were pretty popular.
