Leveling Kit?
I've seen leveling kits mentioned here. I'd like an education. My 2017 F-350 XL Regular Cab 8' Bed sits with his derriere in the air. What does it take to lift his nose up, what do I buy? Thanks very much.

2.5” ReadyLift here, still sits an inch low in the front but I wanted a minimal amount of rake, not 3.5” so this kit was perfect for me. It noticeably raised the step up to get in the cab. 35’s fit (they fit stock but, for off-roading, the extra clearance is nice to have). Steering, alignment, and drivability are near unchanged and right in factory specs. I have the track-bar relocation bracket and believe it’s a must-have. There are several cheap kits out there - I’d stay away from them. There are several expensive kits out there too and if money’s no object, go for it. This one fit the bill for me, under $700 installed and aligned.

If you're considering larger wheels/tires, then a front-end lift kit is what you need. If you merely want to level your truck (reduce its rake), you can lower the rear using Ford parts and not upset your front-end geometry. Here's a thread about lowering the rear ...

I went with a Fabtech 2” leveling kit. Fabtech came highly recommended by the 4x4 shop taht did my install. Then they installed Skyjacker shocks. I went with a 2” because I have a work truck and normally have about 1500 - 2000 pounds of tools, fuel and miscellaneous materials that I need for work so I didn’t want my truck to look like it was driving uphill all of the time. I am very happy with the look and ride! Check out my post “yellow work truck”.

I just want to bring the front up to match the rear, don't plan on putting larger tires. The black and yellow trucks both look great!

But post #4 is a much better and cheaper and safer solution to leveling.

Why would you say better and safer? There are thousands probably hundreds of thousands of trucks with leveling kits and I have never heard of a safety issue with them. Or is it just your opinion? Besides unless you need to lower the rear for towing reasons why would someone lower a four wheel drive truck? It doesn’t make any sense to be to buy a big mean truck and the first thing you do is make it smaller... just my opinion I guess.

Just be prepared to put bigger wheels and tires on after the level. Once started its hard to stop...

I respect your opinion, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with it. I don't care how anyone levels their truck. However, I do get to wondering ... not often, just occasionally ... about how anyone will get a "death wobble" fixed under warranty if they've installed a lift. Granted, the DW is not a common thing, but it does happen ... to both stock and modified trucks. Just sayin' for consideration's sake.

My dealer doesn’t care if I have a leveling kit or not. Or any accessory for that matter! They are one of the few that don’t make excuses about why to NOT fix your vehicle, they are really great to work with! Besides I have all but given up on Ford OEM replacement parts to fix the DW because it just keeps coming back with OEM parts, and I am already at 32,000 miles since June and will be out of the bumper to bumper warranty in a month or so anyway...

Put your hand between the front axle and your bump stops. Notice the lack of anything?

That's why 2" up on the front, beats 2" down on the rear.

If I did anything, the front would go up. My mechanic has done a few, he mentioned BDS kit? I was wondering what you guys thought of that vs. what has already been mentioned, and others that may be available. Thanks.

BDS is GTG. Opt for the Fox2.0 upgrade.

I'm actually interested in the BDS kit also. How much geometry changes with the 2" lift? I am concerned about premature wearing of parts by changing angles with the leveling blocks
