i am having issues with vibration on my 302. It is an 87 block in a 77 truck with a T18 trans. I think I found the issues. The damper is E4TE-A3A (50oz?). The flywheel is stamped with C5AE-E(28oz?). Do I have to drop the oil pan to see what the crank is? Am I correct on the balance weights for the flywheel and damper?
Thanks ND. I’m wondering if I should assume the crank matches the block and balanced. The PO did some dumb stuff on this truck.
The oild pan gasket is dripping anyway so I might as well pull it. Question is, how do I get the pan out. Do I have to jack up the engine or should it come out? Jacking it up may be an issue since I don’t have a hoist.
Hello, I have a 302 engine taged with this part number 89TY-8015-AB and I would like to know more info about this motor.
Right now I believe that I have a 28 ounce flywheel on it and I do think that that motor needs a 50 ounce flywheel can some body help me with this topic?
Currently motor have a lot of vibration when it is around 2000 RPS
That is an engine made in Mexico. I can't find any reliable info regarding the casting number. The production was supposedly 1968 to the mid '70s, which would 28 oz imbalance. (50 oz started 1981)
Is it in otherwise good condition? Good compression on all cylinders, not missing or running poorly?
Are there any numbers on the crankshaft? Have the internals been replaced? Do they all match?

Thanks 85e. 150
Engine is in good conditions in general, actually the person who open it was surprise because it is still standard, just one valve wasn’t sealing properly and now is ok, I bought this 1979 F100 truck around 4 years and I believe that the previous owners changed half engine for this one but they keep the 28 components.
Is it posible that this engine is an 89 engine ( first two digits numbers on the casting block and then T= truck and Y= year ?)
Right now I can’t see the crankshaft number because the motors is already close but I will try to get it
E7AE would be a 1997 revision item. 50oz. This must be a real mix and match engine. Not the strongest stock crankshaft but should be ok for standard running. You have to wade through this a bit:
