2018 F250 Payload Stickers/Help

Ok, I need some help here deciphering what my new truck can tow and stay within specifications. I currently only own a small enclosed trail (6X12) but I am looking to upsize and I want to know the how to read these accurately so I do not overload the truck. I have attached the stickers for some help. As an example could I pull a bumper trailer loaded at 10000lbs?

The truck wouldn't bat an eyelash at a 10000 pound trailer. What you need to pay attention to is hitch weight.

If it starts sagging you'll need some airbags to help bring your back end up. GCWR is the number you need to pay attention to....and even the lightest rated super duty can handle 20k GCWR.

Take 2093lb and subtract the weight of passengers and any stuff you have in the truck (tool boxes, your hitch, dogs, luggage, etc).

Then divide that by 0.1 for a bumper pull trailer (10% tongue weight) or 0.2 for a 5th wheel trailer (20% pin weight). That will get you the approximate weight that you are looking for.

Make sure you use GVWR on the trailer as opposed to dry weight. Also, I would suggest using 13% of GVWR for a bumper pull trailer. The 10% figure is the MINIMUM for stable towing and in reality almost all tongue weights are higher than 10%.

Yeah, that 10k trailer will likely have somewhere between 1000 and 1500 for a tongue weight depending on how it’s loaded. With 2093 lbs of payload capacity that doesn’t leave a lot of room for peeps and gear. I like the 6.7 but dang it can eat a lot of payload. They need to start making the block out of something lighter like titanium or balsa wood.

^^^^^^ Don't blame it on the diesel. Blame it on customers wanting a smooth ride and the look of a heavier duty truck.

Well, it IS the diesel that eats up the payload on a F250.
