hello,who i am..
Hello everyone,
Im a disabled plumber/fire fighter.my Grandfather opened a plumbing company in 1945,used various trucks until my dad bought a used 1970 ford F250 Camper special sport custom in 1972.i was injured and 99.99% disabled in a fall, broke my back in 1995,and i was still driving the truck, dad retired in 2006 and that truck was still running, had (not kidding) 530,000+ miles on it,we did have to replace the engine in 1986 ( my neighbor is the guy who built the engine,we just found this fact out last week Jan 6 18..odd huh?..) it had had a 360 in it,they put 390 heads on it,then on my way home from the shop,a 55 miles one way trip, the engine seized after about 30 miles, turned out a freeze plug came out,the shop then built a 390 that was "pumped up",i have no idea of what they did to it,but it had some serious power.we had a Oakland utility body on it,i wish i could post a pic as im trying to find out what the color is,i found a code 8530 1970 Diamond Blue, but im colorblind, and i dont know if it may have been the sky blue, why it maters is that im starting a 1/25th scale model of it,and id sure like to know the correct color,we had it repaint in the original, correct color according to the body shop, but i dont know for certain.
