Does any one have suggestion on were I can put a cb in my 2001 mazda b2500 I would like to put it near the cup holders but I don't know how or if I could move them forward away from under the dash Does anyone know of a box made that I could put it in.
On my '99 Ranger, which should have an identical interior to yours, I bought a bracket from Galls (galls.com) to hold the radios, and mounted them just in front of the cup holders in the console. (If you have the optional cupholders that are a part of the console arm rest this won't work).
Then I ran the wires directly under the cupholder, out the back of it, under the carpet, down the outer edge of the cab below the doors, and through the grommet in the bottom of the cab under the supercab section. Then I ran the wire up between the cab and the bed, and to the antenna I had mounted on the toolbox. A very easy (30 minutes) and very clean looking installation actually.
I checked out galls they have a few different styles do you remeber which one you used? This is what my interior looks like just reg cab https://www.ford-trucks.com/gallery/...1Ranger23.html Thanx for you response
Does anyone know how much space is between the protruding part of the headliner between the visors and the metal of the interior roof ? And can someone please tell me how to pull the forward roof to dash trim piece? I don't find any screws does it just clip on?
I used the bracket that holds two radios...I think it's about $40.00. Worked perfectly in the console area. I forget the name of it...StreetThunder maybe. ??
I just mounted mine under the dash between the ash tray and steering column. Just two screws right into the plastic, works great and it's out of the way but easy to get to. By the way, it's in a '98 Ranger automatic.
I made my own custom bracket for my 2000 Ranger 5/sp from 2 pieces of 3/4" aluminum angle. I used the 2 screws/bolts under the dash in front of the shifter to mount one piece that extends towards the passenger side. Then mounted the radio to the 2nd piece and screwed the 2 flanges together. I drilled and tapped it for machine screws. I pulled the dash/radio cover off and wired it into the accessory outlet for power. Just realize this isn't switched by the ignition! I'm hoping to get it mounted back in my 2002 Ranger soon. If you want a pic of this let me know and I can get one up for you.
I created a gallery and added 2 pictures with a description. Gallery title is "Radio Mount" I didn't see any way of searching the galleries so if you can't find them I can email them to you.
I finally mounted that radio...
Did you already buy the CB? I bought the Cobra with all the controls on the mic. No "radio" to mount. Just the small connector junction box under the seat.
I bought that CB when I had my Z28. I thought it would be a great space saver. Problem was...it was junk. I couldn't pick up a signal 100 yards away with that thing.
