Great Ranger

2003 Ranger with 1,500 miles now. I've already had to adjust the driver's side door latch, tailgate latches, replace a screw in the rear mudflap bracket, properly re-install fan shroud, and install the splash guard for the driver's side front fender-well. And still my dash panel is warped and one rear door seals more tightly than the other. And there isn't a bolt on this truck anywhere that's tight. Quality control has gone to the pigs these days. That's why this forum is full of questions. Just being honest.

The Ranger is a great truck, but "it's not the healthy who need a doctor". So the people who post in here post when there is a problem. I know it makes it seem like the Ranger is junk...but that's not really the case at all. It's just that the reason to post is for a problem, so that's all we see.

Great Ranger

2003 Fx4 levell II 4.0 SOHC 5 Spd Manual Transmission & Manual Transfercase. 4,500 miles.

Seems to run better everyday. No Problems whatsoever, everthing works, fits, doesn't leak, runs great!, transmission shifts fine,
I also took it to a 4x4 test track in the mountains (major obsticles,Rocks,Mud, Sand,Ditches,Wet logs, Big holes in road, Steep Hills.) to see what it could do.
It pased evey obsticle with flying colors.(the guy that ran the place kept saying "most trucks don't usally make it the first time") But this one did!!!
Anyway: I previously had a 1990 Ranger XLT 4X4 Super Cab 2.9L,
5 spd manual Transmisson, hubs & Tansfercase. 175,000 miles, 11 years, and was still running strong when I traded it in.

Great Ranger

I got a 1989 4x4 std. cab,2.9 auto, hub and t-case.Just turned 100,000 miles. The truck has been in the family since it was new. The truck runs great .There have been 3 major repairs ,new radaitor , ac rebuild and power steering pump. Not bad for a for a 14 year old truck. The wife drives it every day.

Thumbs up Great Ranger

I have a bright red 2002 Ranger Edge, with the 3.0L Vulcan. I love truck and it purrs, as is. I get all kind of complements regarding the looks.

So far, I have not had any problems, whatsoever. I joined the FTE group to learn more about my truck and find out what I can do to enhance a great little truck.

So, my point is that everyone who comes here is not doing so due to problems.

And, Howdy from Texas! Ya'll take care, now, ya hear....
