Hi I'm new to this forum hope someone can shed some light
As I'm in Australia this is an import vehicle and is a rare beast
Here goes
Things that have been replaced
Heads
Injectors
Injector harness
Hpop
Ficm
Turbo
Standpipes
IPR and tail
ICP sensor and tail
Blue spring upgrade
Oil rail orings and cups
The truck runs great when cold fires up straight away
All the readings are within spec
Once it reaches operating temp 160 and above it develops a misfire/stutter most noticable above 1500 bad at 2000 and above
All the readings on my CTS are good
Checked fuel pressure and is steady on 62 only drops 1 psi on acceleration
So I am now at a loss to explain it
No codes at all
Did have contribution code on 3 and 6 but that was prior to reman injectors
I have an Edge CTS and an SCT3 tuner
Tried it back to stock and still the same
it's an 05
I have tried the ICP unplugged and makes no difference
It isn't a HPOP issue as it fires up hot and cold ICP volts are stable and within spec
Really weird that it only happens once warmed up
Only thing I'm thinking is the reman FICM is bad on the logic side
As these are rare in Aus can't just swap out parts
I just did a data run with Forscan and the ICP volts are all over the place
see attached
Runs the same with the ICP unplugged as plugged in
I am led to believe that the ICP pressure is inferred not actual am I right?
Pigtail replaced when i did the sensor
I thought that might have been the issue as well so rechecked the solder joints and they seemed ok but redid them anyway
Traced the wires back to the PCM and that seems fine too
Just to clarify..........ICP and IPR are Motorcraft?
Injectors are Ford remans?
I only ask because it's a well known fact that for certain parts, anything other than OEM is pretty much crap, countless threads here of blokes that went the woo flung dung route and ended up taking them back out straight away or soon after.
Just thinking out loud, I do wonder if it's a solder joint(s) in the FICM opening up once it's up to temp.
Not unheard of and won't be that obvious on the graphing.
Hopefully someone else will chime in
I really does seem like it's electrical definitely heat related
I am waiting on a VCM to arrive so I can do a cylinder balance
Not like I can just swap out a FICM with another one easily
The guy that supplies me parts is back to work Monday I can see if he has another
