Ok, here goes. I have a 1947 Ford truck. I was hoping to put the body on a 2004+ F150, but that wont work since the frame is to wide at the cab area. My wife had a 01 Sport Trac that we had from new till about 5 years ago. Should have kept it as a toy, but new kid on the way, no money for toys.
So I am wondering if anyone knows or where I can get some frame measurements for a sport trac, or are they similar to regular explorers of the frame era? Reason I am asking is there are several threads on here and elsewhere where people have put early to mid 50's Ford trucks (and a few Chevy trucks) on regular explorer frames. My wheel base on the 47 is 122" and Sport Tracs are 126. I do not think any explorers has a larger wheelbase than 112" IIRC.
Pictures would be awesome to have as well.
What I am hoping to do is find a wrecked or blown up Sport Trac for cheap, strip it down to the frame and go from there.
I can take some measurements of our 2003 Sport Trac's frame, what exactly are you looking for? Inside of frame to inside of frame, outside of frame to outside of frame?
