I have a2004 Ford F-350 dually all stock except the hoop is new, is has the blue spring kit, dummy plugs, stand pipes, egr delete, s&b intake and a 5 inch exhaust. I’m sure there is more but I haven’t updated my account lately to add this truck to it. Now that is out and we know the platform that is being worked with the story. I bought the truck around 13 months ago and it had all but intake and exhaust already done to it along with a new turbo. After buying the truck I replaced the intake with an s&b since the old one was missing the clips and was in rough shape no problems . I replaced my exhaust and for the first week there was no problems at all. Then slowly I started hearing as I was slowing down at the end of the spool down of the turbo kind of a grinding noise. So I removed the turbo found very very little play in it but decided to rebuild it anyway just to be on the safe side I mean I already had it out so might as well. Rebuild went flawlessly noticed a little grooving on my unison ring and I had another unison ring off of another turbo and it looked pretty new so I decided to swap it out and go from there. Now I didn’t see grooves or anything on the propeller shaft at all so went forward with the build. Got it all back together and checked for play had none propellers spun freely installed back on the truck started it up and let it idle to get warmed up then took it out for a test drive and it was like night and day performance wise and I never heard my turbo spool it was so quiet. Now I’m starting to hear the same grinding noise about two weeks after the rebuild. I’ve done some research but figured I’d ask here since I’ve always had good luck on here with everyone as to see what you guys think what the problem might be. Any comment is welcomed thanks in advance.
