yeah, sorry, I though you were attaching the back of the intake to the brake booster line. I could not figure out what that would help with, forgive a dumb forder. And you are just plugging the hose comming off the intake right. By george I think I have it now

Could the PCV running off #8 cause a pinging problem as well?
ive been threw hell trying to sort out a pinging problem ive been having with my 94 F150..
I parked the truck for quite some time over this. But now it needs to be put back on he road we lost the van from a acident totaled.
I have installed pluges, cap, roter set timing [with spout removed]
cked EGR seems to work fine.removed EGR ran a coat hanger in the port to make shoure it was clear. cleaned mass air cencer
using 98% alochal had a injector service well 2 times i didnt like the way it was done the frist time the secound time i had it done with a motor vac thats the way to go ..There are no codes that i know of ..had a guy run a test and if i remember there were 2 codes ..one was somthing to do with the test no being doen right
or somthing to do with not having the right testor..Anyways im pulling my hair out on this one .
Think ill copy and past this to a new thred to..
Thanks

The first thing I would think is EGR but you say it works OK. Are you sure you don't have any EGR codes?

What a great thread. If anyone out there is adept with a camera,
why not post a photo? That would really speed up my research into
this idea...

Regards, Cliff

I know I am digging this thread out of the grave but I thought I would add this. I looked at my '95 with the 351w last night and the formed hard plastic PCV pipe definitely runs all the way from the back of the motor around the driver's side of the manifold, past the vacuum tree and into a fitting in the main "box" part of the upper manifold, right about at the center. It looks factory.

So obviously they updated it in '95.

Talking

I have a little story to tell.....lolol.

2 summers ago I did an intake gasket job on a 91 f-150 4wd 302 w/ a manual trans plus a whole bunch of inspection work....brakes, shocks, etc. So I replaced the leaky intake gaskets and ran the truck for awhile to be sure everything was hunky dory. Did the brakes and what not and test drove the vehicle. I got about 2 miles from the shop and the #8 piston self-destructed. I thought for sure I had dropped a bolt into the motor through the lifter valley. Pulled the engine apart and found nothing but broken pieces of piston. Got a Jasper reman and they had a TSB about the moving the location of the PCV intake to the middle of the upper intake plenum. Did that on the new motor as well as my own 87 F-150 last spring (03) when I did my intake gaskets. My truck has 145,000 miles on it and runs like a top. No hesitation or missing or blow by. I did have to replace my crank breather filter after about 20,000 miles

Ok I was ready to do this mod, but I have a 95. Did they change something in 95?

Yes, Ford put an extra vacuum port up at the main part of the manifold for the PCV in later model trucks.

So does that mean my PCV isn't at the back of the engine?

Your '95 should be just like mine. The PCV valve is at the rear of the passenger side valve cover, and a hose runs around the back of the upper intake manifold and into it about in the middle. It doesn't just basically dump into the #8 runner like they did before.
