24,800 gross combined once with a load of gravel in the dump trailer. Went approx. 2 miles with it. one mile from the pit to the scale house, and another mile from the scales back to the pit to be reloaded. the truck pulled fine, but I sure wouldnt have wanted to have to panic stop with that.

I regularly pull what you pull...
1989 Jeep YJ on a 16' flat steel deck trailer ~7k (never weighed it).
I have towed this with a 2011 w/6.2 & 3.73 and my new 2017 w/6.2 & 3.73.
Both handle the weight fine, but my preference is how the 2017 tows. The main reason is the little squat I see versus the 2011 which did squat more than I expected.

I have weighed mine. Jeep weighs 4880. I have weighed it separately before.

10,000# F350, Reading utility box, loaded, with a 6000# tandem axle utility trailer. Does fine. Shifts alot, but so far so good. 111,303miles, 4971hours, 2689 at idle.
Even with 3.73's, it'll smoke nearly every 7.3L diesel and 460 I ever drove. So it's a bit of perspective, the 6.2L is more than most people need, and better that what we've had for many years.
