Engine Swap
I have a '89 F-250 with a very worn out EFI 302. I have access to a 460 from either a '71 or '76 Ford Lincoln. I would like to swap in the 460 but I am unsure of what I need to adapt it into my truck(brackets, new tranny, clearance problems, etc). I would like to keep it EFI. My other option is to rebuild the 302. I tow alot and the 302 is just not enough motor as it is or was. My truck is 4 wheel drive with the Mazda 4speed w/ OD? and 4.10m gearing. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know a lot about the details, but I do know that, for the most part, you should be able to do it with common service parts. You will need to get a different tranny. Besides the fact that it probably won't bolt up to the 460 I would say that the Mazda would have a pretty short life behind the 460.
