Need help: 7.5 460 1988 engine headers

Hey guys,

I need some help as I don't get figured out which headers/ gaskets I need..

First off, I've got an F-250 1989 460 EFI. Engine seems to be original.
As the drivers' side exhaust manifold kept leaking, I decided to give it a go and ordered some Hedman shortys 89460 at summ..-rac.....com. IT seemed like they fit (model selection etc.)

Unfortunately, the ports seem to be way to small. Pic's attached. Soo...wht the heck did I do wrong?? What do I have to look for?? The gasket lying over the headers in the picture was fitting exaclty to my engine, but I can't find out what's the correct thing.

cheers from germany,
Chris

p.s. If it helps, I can provide my VIN as well..

Correct gasket, wrong headers.. which would I need??

You have an 89 efi, but got headers for an 88? I think even 88 460s were efi, but if your 88 headers are for a carb 460 that'd explain your alignment woes.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I wanted to write 89 in the post title though messed that up. :P
Regarding the headers I bought, I double checked every possible way before ordering, as customs fee and shipping overseas is quite expensive.. It always showed as the correct ones for my 89. Any idea which headers would fit?

89F2urd nailed it.

Lots of variation depending on transmission and I don't want to sound like a crass commercial announcement, but Banks products are pretty high quality -- good welds, thick flanges. There are lots of cheap (e.g thin flange) headers out there - many do nothing but get rusty, most are over-rated and offer little, if any, real improvement.
