MAF conversion wiring question

I am in the process of converting my 88 f150 5.0 to the MAF system with sequential fuel injector firing. I have deconstructed a mustang harness to get factory correct wiring colors, and have already repinned the 60 pin connector for the ecm, but have run into an issue constructing the fuel rail harness. I understand that pin 42 runs to injector 4, and pin 14 runs to injector 3, etc. My question feels really dumb to ask, but wiring diagrams and electrical work in general makes my head hurt and I think I have thoroughly confused the crap out of myself...

Does injector 3 correlate with cylinder 3, etc...?

Yes, injector numbers correlate exactly with cylinder numbers and on these Fords the cylinders are numbered 1-4 front to back on the passenger side and 5-8 front to back on the drivers side.. just in case you didn't know.

I figured as much, but that diagram had me confused and that turned into a downward spiral. C3w ecm from a mustang parts car, maf sensor/ housing/ hose from same. Anybody know of a way to bench test an ecm before I install one without knowing it works? Trying to eliminate as much troubleshooting as possible in the future

Haven't heard of anyone who can do a bench test on these ECMs, but that doesn't mean it can'y be done.

Recommend opening up the case and inspecting the capacitors for leakage as they tend to leak over time and replace if necessary.

You could always plug the ECM into a healthy running Mustang and see if it works.
