What about 4x4 vehicles? I'm greasing the u-joints on the axles. But what about the bearings?
Hub bearings are sealed units with no ability for routine maintenance. Axle bearings inside the axle tubes are lubed by the diff oil. Owners manual will spec front axle service intervals.
The 4*4 are unitized bearings that are not serviceable. Besides the u-joints in the front axle you might find a grease nipple on a front or rear drive shaft, but mostly non serviceable.
On the Brite side, my last SD made it 10 years before having to do a ball joint, a u-joint. In 13 years never an issue with a unitized bearing or drive shaft, including slip yokes.
