Front axle repair

Ok, I need to replaces the seals and bearings on my front axle. I have already done the ones in the hub itself. I am refering to the bearing in the spindle and the seals for the axle tube and spindle. Where do I find the parts? Anyone got any part numbers?

the needle bearings in the spindle for the axle shaft and the axle shaft outboard seals are a dealer item, at least that is the only place I can find them.

Ok, well after quite a bit of searching I found a place that sells the parts in a kit form. It includes the bearing and the two seals for each side. I picked up a couple kits today. If anyone wants/needs one or more of these, let me know and I'll pick em up and ship em to ya. I am sure 27.50 is considerably cheaper than what the stealership charges.

Now my next question. How in the world do you get the old bear out of the spindle?? It seems to be a press fit By the way my truck is a 350 4x4 with a Dana 60 front axle.

The spindles, once you get the bolts off, come out best with a slide hammer.
if your not saving the spindles, I beat mine off with a 3lb hammer.
They are in there really good.

Yea, I know how to get the spindle off. Took me 4 hours and a torch but it finally came free. Just not sure how to get the roller bearing out of the spindle.

a long punch, drive it out from the out board side, if that doesn't work a sharp chisle and cut through the bearing casing.

yea, not everyone has a 12 inch pin punch. haha.

I'm not sure how tight they are in there, but i can think of a few other objects that might work if they are not super tight. Like a welding rod.

1/4inch drive extension that is really long with the right bit on the end, or even some home made bent thing to push it out.

Well since I couldnt find a 12 inch punch I improvised and welded 2 punches together. Gonna try it out tomorrow and see if I cant get them out. I will be doing the spindle bearing and seals as well. Any tips or tricks yall may want to pass on. I gotta start early cuz its supposed to get up to like 95 tomorrow.
