I just repaired my factory slider rear window, replaced a pane of glass and ended up doing some rust repair in the window channel so I decided to weld up the holes in the cab, CB antenna, amber strobe light and the cargo light. When you live in the rain forest holes in the roof don't make sense.
Naturally a cab repaint was necessary so the interior trim was taken out and I broke the driver side A pillar trim, very brittle. I grabbed another one at the pick n pull and went to put it in and it doesn't fit right. My truck is a 83 F350 and the donor was marked as a 83 F150, I thought the cabs were the same.
The part number for the original is E3TB-10025A85-BWA and the replacement is E0TB-10025A85-AWD so it looks like the replacement was actually from a 1980 truck so I guess they miss marked the truck, I should have looked at the decal not what they wrote on the cab.
So what years is the trim the same as the 83? I thought it was 80-86 but I guess there are minor differences within that model as well.
There are 3 more trucks within 50 miles to try and get one from but they are all 150's or 250's and mine is a 350, what trucks should have the trim I need?
There are 2 types of A-pillar trim 1980 - 86... one for trucks that had full interior trim (includes a headliner + B-pillar + rear window trim) and another set for trucks that had only the A-pillar trim, nothing else.

DOH...
Didn't even notice it didn't have a headliner... So there is no way to tell before I drive the 40 miles if the trucks they have are the correct ones.
Would the Vin number give a trim level?
I would say even if junk yard ones do not fit your truck and if in good shape pull both sides and maybe the rears if it has a full head liner and sell them as I am sure someone out there needs them.
I would even think colors don't matter as long as it is useable.
