I don't know why ford would not make the tailgate have power locks just like the doors, they have to run a wire for the camera. Has anyone put an after market power lock on their tailgate? I have found a few companies that make it. Just looking for comments on them good or bad.

 

I have thought the same thing too....
It sucks to have to shut the truck off to pull the key out to unlock the tailgate when I forget to unlock it ahead of time.

 

I am interested in this also. I hate having to manually lock the tailgate all the time.

I was looking at the pace edwards one and apparently if you have a backup camera it is a no go.

 

A nice idea but I bet they would be reluctant to do it because they know it would cause a lot of warranty work for sticking and non functioning power tailgate latches caused by people like me who frequently drive around with the tailgate hanging down picking up filth and corruption.
