Well, broke down on the side of the interstate . I’m getting a tow in a bit, but need some advice : truck all the sudden stopped runnng. She turns over , but no start. I have fuel in the filter housing, tach goes up to about 500 while trying to start.

o did had the impression in the past few weeks that every now and then I have a skip.. just one ..
I thought if the cam sensor goes out, your tach won’t move?
but I will check on it as I think I have one at home .. still waiting on tow right now though 😳

Skip, like dead silence is usually the CPS, very intermittent. If it's turning over at 500 RPM it must be trying to fire so it still could be the CPS. That would be my guess with information provided. Good luck, report back with actual fix please.
WTS Light works, CPS sensor did not help .
right now my batteries are pretty low and I can also not connect with my A&e . All fuses below hood are good
Ok , here an update.. Truck is running 😊.
first off, the fuse under the dash for the cigarette lighter was blown... it also supplies power to the service port. Replaced it and hooked up a&e and connected.
The initial error code showed CPS , which I replaced. Since I had still no start , I did the KOEO test..
it showed both injector banks circuit high , cylinder 8 and 3 high and idm failure.
i still had another old idm, which I tried and she cranked right up.. KOER Test passed.
Hope I don’t brake down the next three days, but I guess I need to change the uvch harness or at least check...

Same thing happened to me a few days before Christmas on the I-10 between Phoenix and Los Angeles. Had to pay over $300 for a tow to Buckeye and baby it back home. Mine isn't such an easy fix however. I'd maybe send that IDM in for a rebuild so you know you have a good spare. I'm going to buy a spare one sometime this year just to have.
If I send in the IDM .. any suggestion, who does not charge a lot ?
I don't know for sure, but I think Swamps,is the only company that messes with IDM's. I think others rebuild them but Swamps I think is the only one doing modification to them like upgrading the voltage and the frequency. I was probably just going to buy a super duty IDM online.
