What is the front end weight differnce (engine weight) between the 6.0 engine and the V-10? Nearly all 2wd lift kits say "for gas engine only". Is the differnce that much? I only want a 4" lift to level it off and get a little more clearance....
I was told by skyjacker that if you put a 4" diesel kit on to a V10 engine, it would raise the V10 up to 6" (exact height was not known.) Youd be safe to go with a diesel kit on a gas as far as weights concerned, by I don't think I'd put a gas kit on a diesel. Best bet is to call the manufacturer and ask their opinion.
That was on a 4X4 system. I was trying to sell my kit, and was wondering if it would work on a V10 for someone who wanted it. Doesn't address the 2ws issue, but does show there is a weight difference.
The 7.3's went about 600-800 lbs heavier than the V10 to my best recollection. The 6.0 w/ torqueshift may be slightly less. They ARE heavy those oilers

Actually the 6 is heavier than 7.3, I dont know about the difference in wieght with the trannies though.
The 7.3 is about 500 lbs more than the V10. I'm not sure about the 6.0, but it's fairly easy to figure out. Just go to the Ford website and look at the weight specs for trucks. A quick subtraction for comparable trucks with the different engines should tell you how much more the 6.0 weighs.
A 4" Fabtech put on a PSD won't give you much lift at all.....and you'd only have like 1-1.5" of shaft out of the shock at static ride height. Probably could bottom out the shocks just while driving aggressively on the street.
