As the title states any tips on removal? I need to check to see if the feed bolts didnt come loose. Tranny takes its sweet *** time to go into second only when hot as well as reverse
Do i need any internal gaskets,
Will be 2 gaskets to get to where you need to be. You may get lucky and not tear them but I'd have a new set ready just in case. And depending on year A kit will come with 4 of them make sure to get the right 1 back in depending on stripe color.
The solenoid pack probably won't just fall out. Sometimes they are a pain to get out. There is 8 or 9 ball's and a ball with a spring at the back on top of the plate that will fall out.
Thanks Mike Ill look into the Coon mod and Tugger kit. Judging by how clean the oil pan when I removed it a couple of weeks ago Ill say the tranny still has some life in it.
Thanks Quesey ill look into them as well. I already installed a triple disc TC so adding any of the tranny mods you posted should net me a solid trans. I beat the living snot out of the truck and the tranny has held pretty good all these years, who knows the old mechanic could of addressed the known issues but never took notes on them?
