2008 Explorer Washer pump
About 3 months ago the water pump went out on our Explorer. Simple and cheap to swap it for a new one and all was good.
However, now the new one is not working. As far as I can tell there is no fuse, but I have read about there being a relay. Anyone know if that's true and where the relay is located? $16 is not much to spend on a new pump, but I don't really feel like swapping one out constantly.
Thanks.

According to the wiring diagram for your 2008, the washer relay is located withing the front wiper motor assembly. The washer relay gets power from the wiper motor power feed, so if your front wipers are working, your washer should too. The wiper motor assembly gets power from 30A fuse F20 in the Battery Junction Box.

Thanks, the front wipers work fine, assuming the switch for the washer pump in the stalk is also fine, since pushing it in triggers the front wipers.
I visually checked the fuse, wanted to pull it and check with a multimeter, but felt like it was going to break and without a spare I did not want to risk it. Going to try testing the connection next, if that's good it must be the pump.

Thankfully it's all very easy to access, just behind the bumper, so checking the electrical connection at the harness should be simple enough (just need an assistant to push the wiper button).
My biggest problem is laying on the floor with it being 17F outside and possibly having to drain the washer fluid. It's almost impossible to get the hoses/pump off without getting wet.
