I have had 4 lariats. I did not want chrome again. Went XL and loaded it up. Had dealer swap out chrome bumpers and flat black rims. Need to black out badges next. It will do for know til I'm ready for 6" lift.
Beautiful truck! Nice boat, too. Will you be my friend?
I feel the same way. Even if I could find a Lariat with all the options I want but no chrome package,it would be too much chrome for me. I don't mind it on a few trim pieces but I wish the mirrors, grill, etc. were body colored or black.
My last 15 F350 I went with a Platinum trying to avoid as much chrome as possible. If the mirror caps, door handles etc would have been paint to match the Platinum would be a good option with the satin finish.
Not a fan of chrome mirror caps and door handles.
Also as others have pointed out black cloth in an XL or XLT would be Great. The light gray interior is dated and gets dirty just looking at it. Love the black cloth option in my F150 Sport!
Wish Ford would offer a Super Duty in Sport Trim. My last F350 I ordered a Platinum, due to I hate all the excessive chrome. Yes I know a Platinum has chrome all over it as well, just not as bad on the grill and bumpers.
I don't get it, you can get an F150 Sport trim, just can't order it on a Super Duty. I've tried optioning out a XL, however when you try to get certain features it forces you into a Chrome XLT.
No offense, I'm just not a fan of chrome. Even RAM and GM offer a sport package, just can't get it in a Ford. I hear so many folks spending lots of money removing chrome from their trucks.
The Super Duty marketing team must be into Chrome or think everyone wants more of it. Less is more in my opinion.
I would order one today if I could get a Sport XLT or Lariat!
I got a lariat ultimate and had all the chrome wrapped.
Ford offered a sport package on the Super Duty years ago. Maybe it didn't sell. It was available in red, white, blue, black, and grey. Bumpers were monochromatic. I always wanted one on red, but it never happened. Also funny how GM has their black packages, and markets it like they invented gold, when Ford started it with the Nite truck in the early 90's.
I looked at a 2017 Lariat with the sport package. Black exterior, black interior. No chrome at all, just some red splash on a couple of the badges, that was it. Nicely equipped truck, ok price, but I had to pass. Was just too black - with my old eyes I was afraid I'd never find it in a dark parking lot at night, lol.
Edit: Just realized I posted to the wrong forum! It was a 150 I looked at!
I’m preparing to order a 2019 Super Duty Lariat and I love Ford, but I hate that they seem to be the only manufacturer not offering some sort of monochromatic/blackout package. I hate chrome, and most Ford trucks have more chrome than gaudy 18-wheeler. So, I was psyched to see Ford finally release a sport appearance package for these trucks until I found out what was included.
For $3,300, you get the two main large grille bars painted black, but the smaller bars above and below the two main ones will remain chrome. Fail. You still have chrome bumpers. Major fail. Blacked out headlights, but only on halogens. Fail. Only the chrome trim on the fender vents will be black, the rest will remain chrome. Fail. You get black running boards, but I want power-deployable running boards. So, the only redeeming feature of this package (to me) is the black wheels which they haven’t even shown us yet.
I’m super disappointed with this package and think it is overpriced. I’ll just order a normal Lariat and black out the grille, bumpers, badging, and get new wheels exactly how I want it all done and save money. I also won’t have to wait for the “Late Availability” which I don’t know if that means September or sometime in 2019.
