Don't know how this happened but nevertheless the linkage between the EBP valve and the EBP actuator is disconnected. Is there any way to reattach the linkage without pulling the turbo? I pulled a trailer around the country all summer and didn't have issues until the last two days of the trip when power went down the drain and noticed the linkage disconnected. I had the turbo off last winter so I probably didn't have the lock all the way engaged on the linkage. If I could extend the actuator about 1/8" I could get it reattached, so is there anyway of doing that?
It can be done. That little c-clip is a PIA! Did I say PIA? Just in case I didn't, They're a PIA.
I'm surprised you din't loose it when disconnecting it. There are a hundred in the Darin at the Dealership I worked under my old rack!
Honestly, I just loosen everything up. I would end up doing that anyway on the ones I've done. A LOT LESS FRUSTRATING! Just remember to align the O-Rings so they don't get pinched.
If it's of any help, the last time I reinstalled my turbo, I took a small piece of sheetmetal about an inch long, and bent it into a U shape and slid it over the solenoid arm, holding it out a ways against the spring. This way, when I dropped the turbo onto the pedestal, I wasn't fighting it trying to line it up with the shaft on the valve actuator. Once installed and clipped I pried it out to let the solenoid spring close the EBPV.
My experience was that was the worst part of doing an up pipe install. I believe someone above mentioned PIA. That would be the best and most accurate description for my experience.
