I just got a 72 F100 with a 390/Edlebrock Intake/Holley 4V setup.
The Holley is a 80475 (4160 series).
The engine has been backfiring during deceleration, so I started looking around.
While attempting to check the front float level, I get no drip out of the sight plug hole. I started to back out the float adjustment lock screw, and gas sprays out of the top...still no sign of gas as the sight hole.
I'm a baby with Holleys, and I sure as heck don't get this????
Some times they will spray around the adjuster when moving them. If it leaks when you tighten it back up, then it will need new gaskets on top and bottom of the adjusting nut.
Only back the srew off just enough to move the nut and slowly back it out until the fuel level is just below the sight hole. It should only come out of the sight hole if you rock the truck back and forth.
