I have a 1960 f100 custom cab..restoring it myself and really need some advice. It's going to be air ride and I just need a few picture's of someone else's professional set up I can go off of. I want it a few inches below it's factory height when driving..when it's parked I want the body as low as it can go without doing any major frame modifications. I'm also throwing a Diesel engine into it, so what front axle do you guys recommend upgrading to that won't make the stock rear axle look funky?? (Truck will remain 2wheel drive).
All input is appreciated as well as pointing me into the right direction for information.
A lot of people have done MII or Crown Vic Front clips, not sure how many people went diesel as well. Not sure that the stock rear axle will work. You should post your ID Plate.
I want mine lower as well, but im going the Crown Vic front clip route (affordable). I think most people achieve a good drop from it 4-6 inches. They have axle flip kits for the rears.
You did not say what diesel you want to install?
If from say a VW then I would think any of the MII or CV swap would work.
If going with a 4BT Cummings then maybe just maybe a MII or CV swap would also work.
Now if going with say a Power Stroke or the 6BT Cummings I don't think either of the above suspensions would work because of the weight on the engines.
