After a few days of ownership, I am still loving this thing. Wadehouk, that is a nice truck. I wanted lariat, but it just wasn't in the cards considering my budget. I came out pretty good though as my XLT has all the features of the lariat excluding the navigation and leather.

 

Sweet... Congratulations! Well worth the wait, the way I see it. If you decide to try and change those bulbs, be careful - the lens can be a PITA to get out of the mirror. You should be able to find a procedure on YouTube - I smacked my passenger side mirror on a leaning telephone pole on a really narrow back road and broke the lens when I first got my truck and I think that's how I replaced it. You should have no trouble towing your boat if I can carry my 3200 lb truck camper!

Put 5 tons of crusher run gravel on a trailer behind this thing today. Scale said the combined weight was 20240lbs. Towed it like a champ. Not one issue. Was quite impressed with how easily it towed. This truck has done nothing but impress me so far. Shortly after I dumped the gravel, this happened. Was a much lighter load, but had no trouble with it either. John Deere 3038E with Frontier Box blade, and rotary cutter. Got a steal of a deal on the entire setup from AgPro, those guys know their stuff and hooked me up with exactly what I needed.

Beautiful truck I'm shopping for exactly the same thing, except I would prefer a crew cab. I'm glad you found one! I want the same options and roughly the same price tag as you. I just can't stand a white truck! I would much rather have blue one, but anything other than white would probably be ok!! Congrats on your pretty truck!

 

The only advice I can give you, is be willing to drive and to immediately throw down some holding money when you find one. These trucks move incredibly fast especially if they are trim level XLT or above and under 20k. If you are in the southeast, there are several places that have one come through quite often. Cars.com and autotrader were the best places to find them. Took me nearly 3 months of daily searching to finally manage to snag one. Nearly bought two other ones (couldn't get the deal right on one and they other was promised to me but then sold out from under me by another salesman, hence the money down tip).

Depending on your budget, check enterprisecarsales.com Many late model Ford trucks, priced thousands under blue book to choose from. Most are short term corporate leases, not daily rentals. I bought a 2014 F250 cc, 4x4 XLT from them with 12,500 miles on the clock for less than what dealers were asking for the '08 V10's. Ended up trading it in for a diesel, but that's another story...........

 

Oh, BTW, I bought the 2014 in Feb 0f 2015, traded up later in the year.

 

Great thread...I will be picking up my 2012 F250 6.2L tomorrow! Nice to see a lot of XL owners. My first Super Duty was a 2003 XL Regular Cab SRW F350 with a 7.3L. I sold that truck when my first daughter was a year old in order to buy my wife an SUV. Fast forward a few years and now we have two girls, toying with the idea of a third and traded the SUV for a minivan. I have a take-home vehicle through work that I use as a daily driver, and we just moved to a small farm property about six months ago, so I decided to buy another pickup. I had been out of the Powerstroke world for a while, but I knew enough that if I was going to buy a late model used truck I was not going to go with a diesel. Unlike the 7.3L, buying a used diesel these days is downright scary. I couldn't justify buying a used 6.0, 6.4, or 6.7 without knowing it's full maintenance history given the kinds of repair bills I could be facing if something went wrong. My new truck will be used primarily for running to the lumberyard, feed store, 4H shows, etc...on the weekends, so I think the 6.2L will serve me well given what I've read here. Finally, there's just something about a plain white XL that I love. Although this one was optioned out a bit since it has cloth seats, power windows, and power door locks, but it still has a floor shifter for the t-case. My old 7.3L was an XL with manual door locks and manual windows so I guess I've moved up in the world. In terms of interior comforts as long as the radio works and the A/C blows cold I'm happy

 

Congrats, I remember when we had a 2014 6.2, when towing, those motors love to rev, so don't be afraid to step on the pedal.

Great lookin' rig RumpityRump - Sounds like we followed the same path! I also had an '08 6.4 Diesel (it was an F250 though) then traded it in for my 2015 F350 6.2! Got tired of the constant diesel maintenance with the 6.4 and decided to go gas with the new truck!
