2003 Escape stereo
So, the MACH 3 stereo in my car is only partly working -radio works (first two station buttons only), CD works but controls on that side are all dead, as well as the display being dead.
I'm thinking about a replacement, but don't have a lot to spend - would the CD-6 from, say, a 2006 work in my car?
Or another similar era Ford radio? From what I can gather, the hole isn't quite double-din - is that right?

Maybe Crutchfield says that but a std JVC double-din fitted straight into my 2001, 2002 is certainly the same dash, I thought 2003 was too, hence OP may need to check, suspect the metalwork is double-din, the trim may be what needs fettling.
Crutchfield is sometimes slightly off, I've been trying to use them last week to find what fits into a 2007 Toyota Yaris... :-)
