Defective Paint Job?
Does anybody know anything about defective paint jobs on f series trucks in the 80s and Ford repainting them? If this is true I wonder if my 89 with a navy blue cab that is in pretty bad condition would be eligible since I bought it new?

Yea man! That was the basic time for bad Ford paint. I believe that it was from 86' to 90'. It was weird that it involved the last year of the previous model to almost all of the later 80's version of the Ford pickup truck line. Blue was one of the defective colors. I don't know if Ford will make good now though. I would still try. I tried to get my 89' redone years ago. My local dealership was having financial problems at the time and eventually went defunct so needless to say, I got no paint job. My truck really didn't need it but it was worth the try. The recall I believe covered ALL Ford trucks at the time. Good luck. Jake.

Defective Paint Job?
They must still be doing paint jobs upon request. I picked up an 89 last spring with new paint. The seller produced a recipt showing that the local Ford Dealer had done it for free (to prove the paint was new) but that recipt was not included in the paper work that I got with the truck so I don't have any other info.
