I bought a couple of HF sockets for truck and 3 different trailers and keep my 20V impact wrench under the seat. I want to keep roadside unpleasantness to a minimum if it happens.
a bit of advice for anybody with the 'clad shell' lug nuts who never had one separate...have available a needle-nose plier as well as a strong flat blade screwdriver and hammer to remove the stuck shell from the socket and also have the appropriate 'next size down' socket to use the now un-clad lug nut. I speak from experience...my Explorer uses 19mm socket for the clad nuts, without the cladding the socket size is 18mm...
I always carry a breaker bar and socket to fit in each vehicle. after buying the 250 I pulled the front hub cap thingy and checked the socket. just for grins I loosened one nut. it was nowhere close to 165lb. 75lb at most. I guess I need to break out the torque wrench and check them all.
Torque wrenchs don't work backwards and it's not good for them to use them like that
Yes,I was asking him. Sorry I didn't specify. I think Discount tire down here in San Antonio will be able to supply the washers and lug nuts to replace these factory ones. 128.00 for 32 of them with washers. Said it was not the first time they have done this.

These are black ones. But theres been a few threads about this. This company has black and chrome. The chrome are plated nuts. Not the clad with SS factory nuts.
Several guys have recommended these and some others as well.
Cost of a set of these is like 80 bucks or so.
Make sure your looking at the ones with flat washer bases. Not the tapered bases.
Right now the chrome ones are available in packs of 10 for 23 bucks. They have a master kit that has 40 of them for 80 something but its on back order.
Yea, they have a bunch listed. Those are listed as OEM replacement. 13/16 M-14 1.5.... Im sure the metric is what it is and the 13/16 is thrown in there for those of us who cling to our SAE roots. Maybe in a year or two youll be able to buy these made in USA... but I bet not so much today.
Guess depends on run through factory. my 2020 F-450 is a 13/16" lug nut. Checked with bus mechanic next door, who also thought it would be metric and was surprised to find it was English and 13/16. Go figure. Seems they are all sizes. My lug wrench is sloppy loose, and would round the lugs if used too many times. Happy trails.
