Any thoughts on marrying up a 4.6 to a 5R110W?

I have a complete donor truck in a 2006 F250SD. Originally had the 5.4 Triton.

Also curious about mounting the older transfer cases, (BW 1356, NP205).

All this is speculation for a drivetrain transplant on an older Ford truck, so I'm not too specific about maintaining every bell and whistle, just want to make sure I can control the transmission and the EFI.

Reprogramming the ECM is not out of the question!

 

Interesting project. It'll "work" but I'm sure you'll have to tune it for the 4.6L - and of course, use all the stuff from the donor. From the PCM to the instrument cluster
