I have a 2012 Ford FX4 5.0. a month or so ago I put a new alternator in for some back info.
I notice now when I shut the truck off.. that I get a message on the nav display that says something about battery saver mode is kicking in and to please start engine.
I checked and I dont have the battery light on at any point. I can start the vehicle in the morning after sitting all night?? and getting no signs of a low battery or anything. I will check its voltage tonight while running??
any one seen this before?? If the battery was low and alt working ive driven enough that would have replenished it. again I will have to ensure voltage goes up when running with a meter to ensure alternator working?????
truck working fine by alternator belt is on and not getting a battery low idiot light????
I've seen this message on my 2011. It would start just fine, then one morning the truck was stone cold dead. Ended up being the battery was bad. I wanted to put the factory Motorcraft battery back in, and the local dealer was priced better than every over the counter part store that I called. So if you need a battery, check around for prices before you go over the counter.
last night and charging fine. I see its the original battery so for now I put on charger and this am it was ok. no message when I got to work.
I probably with get a new battery tonight or this weekend. I agree i think battery just old and tired.
Thank you all.
I did the same thing. Full charge, and let the truck sit. And a day or two, then the message would come back on. And now with colder weather coming in, that'll be the time that you come out to a dead battery.

After you get the new battery installed, the battery life monitor will need to reset. This is done by letting the truck sit undisturbed for 8hrs. This included opening/closing doors or locking unlocking. Usually can be done overnight.
That should prevent the message from coming up again after new battery is installed.
