Anyone have a photo of the original hub cabs for a 68 F250?

Hub caps

I have a brouchure of the 67 F-250 caps at a distance. The picture is of a F-250 camper special. I'm fairly sure the 68 caps are the same. Or very close anyway..Being I don't think I have your real E-mail on this site, I'm not sure how to send it to you. I don't think I can post it here. The caps are silver- chrome looking, and naturally pop on the inside part of the wheel. "Often split rims in that day, as my 68 F-250 did." The caps for the f-250's are a good bit deeper than the caps you see on a 1/2 ton truck, being they have to be able to clear the hubs that stick out on the 3/4 ton truck. I'd like to find a set of caps for mine. I don't have any of the originals that came on mine. I just got rid of my split rims a couple of months ago. I hated tube tires...Not fond of split rims either. Many places won't touch them these days. They can take your head off if you don't know how to mount them correctly and they fly apart. I also switched from the old 16 inch bias truck tires to radials. MK

Hub caps

The hubcaps were used until at least 76. I pick them up when ever I find them. Some are painted argent with black trim and others are chrome or stainless. The F-350s used the same thing only those are deeper. The econolines also used them. The chrome ones are pretty hard to find. I have a set on my 72 that I got off a guy that bought white spoke wheels to replace his split rims. My 68 has the painted ones but I have scavenged them here and there as it came with only 2 and they were caved in. I also have 3 of the F-350 chrome ones that I got at a swap meet.

I'v got a sales brochure for 1978 pickups and the F250 and F350 have these same hub caps, chrome with black painted slots and crown ford emblem in the center. In 1979 they changed the look of the hub caps. My 1978 4x4 has a set on them, and there is a picture in the gallery of them. oem78

The F-350 hubcaps are deeper than the F-250 ones.

Why would they need to be deeper ? The F350 has a heavier set of leaf springs and front coils, The axles are the same I believe, and the tires are 16.5, but the hub caps are the same I believe.

I am not sure why unless the Dana 70 axles stick out further. I have three of the deeper F-350 hubcaps hanging on the wall in my shed. I also ran one on my 72 for a couple years until I found a replacement, but those were the painted ones. Even the later ones that came out around 78 have deeper ones for the F-350.
