I'm tossing what I would imagine is a softball for most of you fellas, but it has me stumped. The restoration of my 1961 F250 4x4 is mostly in the evaluation stage. I know I'm going to need new floor pans, but it looks as though I'll need new some bracing under the pans too.
There is a long brace underneath the pans that extends from the truck's sides to the transmission tunnel cover (it bolts into it). I have googled it as "cab support" and other such terms, but I have yet to find it. For model years 1965 and up, I see there are similar parts that the catalogs label "replacement ends", but that is not my model year and none of the ones I've located seem like they will fit my truck. I have drawn a cross section sketch below showing the part I'm trying to describe...it's the part in orange.
Please tell me what this is and if you know where I might get a pair to replace my rotted out ones. I prefer to buy new parts if they are available, but used parts in good condition is another possibility if that's all there is. Thanks!
