What is this part??

Found this in the valley along with some diesel and oil. I know my pedestal is leaking but have no idea what this from

Maybe,maybe not. Bolt could be there without the sleeve.

I dont get where they go, just watch a few valve cover removal vids and dont see where they slid on. Bolts right to the block so....

LOL,I don't think he read your other thread Jack, but I'm really getting a good laugh out it. They hold the gasket to the cover and the bolt goes threw it. It will also only allow to bolt to "crush" the gasket so much.....as long as you don't over torque it.

Rocker box cover bolt sleeves have a rolled edge to retain the gasket. That one above does not.

I think it is a rubber grommet sleeve from either a FICM bracket or the EGR cooler rear bracket.

I'm on the mobile site and he did not state the year of the truck. You know as well as I do the bracket pictures I posted above is not 03.

The FICM vibration dampeners illustrated in the first picture posted above, was what I was suggesting in my post above. And yes, to 87crewdually's point, if the truck referenced is not a 2003 model year (or early 2004 with a 2003 engine), disregard my posts.
