Last Sunday morning when I went to plow with my 2012 F250 6.2L with a manual transfer case the shifter would pop out of 4 high. This only happened a couple of times when I first started out then the rest of my plowing run was fine. The next time I plowed on Tuesday evening I had no issue. Saturday morning when I tried to put the truck in 4 high the sifter would not stay in 4 high. I tried putting it in 4 high with the truck in park, drive or reverse, and it would not stay in 4 high, the only time it would stay was when the truck was off.
Any ideas of where to start looking would be greatly appreciated.
Anything bent or broken? Any sign of a slipped adjustment?
Also, tranny or engine mounts broken?
Just some quick general thoughts without looking at the actual design for your year truck. I'm thinking from the description it is most likely (and least expensive) that an adjustment got loose and slipped, or a bushing failed.
