I have owned 3 new diesels from Ford. First was 2009. Couldn't get rid of that fast enough. Blew white smoke like crazy. Mileage was horrible. Then upgraded to 2016 two years ago. That was a good engine. Both of these trucks were srw cc and lariats. Just purchased a 2017 drw cc f350 diesel King ranch ultimate. I will be picking it up at dealer Thursday. I know I won't have to worry about engine this time and am looking forward to a somewhat smoother ride due to the longer wheelbase. Also am going to like hooking up fifth wheel without getting out of truck several times. Got the camera package. Had neck surgery about year ago and they will help out.

Got the 4:10 rear end. Mileage about 15-17 ?

Forgot to mention first diesel was 2005 Duramax. That was a great engine. Went looking for another truck in summer of 2009. That's when the economy was in the tank. Obama had taken over GM. Is going to get another Duramax but the GM dealers really didn't want to sell trucks. Didn't really have any either to sell. That's when I decided Ford made trucks also.

Mine doesn't have the camera package but its fairly easy to line up. 15 to 17 mpg is about right. I've gotten up to 19 on mine but speeds were 50-55 mph. I try to limit my speed to 67 mph and I'm getting 17 mpg. 1800 to 2000 rpm's are the sweet spot cruising on the Interstate. I'm getting 9 to 10 mpg towing a 15K pound toyhauler at 60-65 mph. 4.10's on mine also. Congrats on the new one...you'll really like it!

It will take a week or two to get use to the turning radius...handling and parking aspect's of the DRW F-350. I live in the country so its nowhere as bad as driving one in the city. I'm retired and most of the time the truck sit's under my carport. Lucky for me I drove semi tanker trucks years ago so the truck even hooked up to my 39' trailer doesn't bother me. Taking the wife to her sisters house in Maryland this upcoming week and plan on taking my truck on the 2300 mile round trip. The 8' bed will be loaded with ice chests..presents and other things they can't get from Louisiana. The 48 gallon fuel tank is nice so I'll only have to stop for fuel once on the 1100 plus mile each way. Diesel looks like its running close to $2.70 @gallon on the Interstates so I'm prepared to getting screwed over at the pump. Recommended DRW air pressure is 70 psi front and 65 psi rears (cold) I've been running 65 front and 60 rear for daily use to soften up the ride. My biggest problem is keeping my 17 yr old grandson out of my truck...I let him drive it the first day I brought it home and that was it...he had no problem handling it at all. Hope you enjoy your new one!

Our Fuzion 371 on a recent trip to Natchitoches, La. Truck handles it easily.

I love the F250 for pulling the 5th wheel. Most times I can't even tell it's back there unless I look in the mirror.
