1988 F super Duty, 7.5L gas EFI. dual tanks, manual trans.
Sometimes, not regular, when the truck has been off for between 5-15/30 minutes, it won't start. Cranks like it wants to start. This happens with the fuel tank selector switch in either tank.
I've replace the external fuel pump, fuel tank selector valve, fuel pressure regulator, both sending units {front & rear tanks}, recently replaced the ignition coil, and spark plugs, and distributor cap, ignition modules [on the steering column. About a yr ago I replaced the TFI module.
If i let the system sit for 5 minutes after cranking several times, it starts.
Any suggestions?
Another thing to try is giving partial throttle (barely open), in the case your AIR Bypass Valve is not opening during your restart. This will allow a little more air into the intake.
